About the course

The Social Emotional Educator- A Primer course builds knowledge and awareness of social and emotional competencies for educators themselves and supports the application of pedagogical practices in classrooms that build these competencies in learners. It is rooted in the importance of positive relationships between educators, learners, and the larger community.

Builds understanding of the role of SEL for both educator and student well-being.

Helps educators to develop better emotional awareness and regulation strategies to focus on their well-being.

Equips educators to use routines to create safe, supportive, and inclusive learning spaces.

Rooted in how the brain learns best, the course helps educators to understand how they can use routines to effectively manage their classrooms by engaging with “all” students.

Supports educators to focus on healthy relationships both with oneself and others.

Deepen understanding of the characteristics of healthy relationships and the importance of healthy relationships especially between educators and learners.
